چکیده

Automated support to enterprize modeling has increasingly become a subject of interest for organizations seeking solutions for storage, distribution and analysis of knowledge about business processes. This interest has recently resulted in approving the standard for specifying Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules (SBVR). Despite the existence of formally grounded notations, up to now SBVR still lacks a sound and consistent logical formalization which would allow developing automated solutions able to check the consistency of a set of business rules. This work reports on the attempt to provide logical foundations for SBVR by the means of defining a specific first-order deonticalethic logic (FODAL). The connections of FODAL with the modal logic QK and the description logic ALCQI have been investigated and, on top of the obtained theoretical results, a special tool providing automated support for consistency checks of a set of ALCQI-expressible deontic and alethic business rules has been implemented.

Specifying Process-Aware Access Control Rules in SBVR

Access control is an important aspect of regulatory compliance. Therefore, access control specifications must be process-aware in that they can refer to an underlying business process context, but do not specify when and how they must be enforced. Such access control specifications are often expressed in terms of general rules and exceptions, akin to defeasible logic. In this paper we demonstra...

Transformation Rules for Translating Business Rules to OCL Constraints

In design of component based applications, the designers have to produce visual such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) models, and describe the software component interfaces. Business rules and constraints are the key components in the skeletons of software components. Semantic of Business Vocabulary and Rules (SBVR) language is typically used to express constraints in natural language and the...

SBVR's Approach to Controlled Natural Language

The "Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules" (SBVR 1.0) is one of the initial specifications in the OMG's family of business-focused specifications. SBVR covers two aspects: Vocabulary (natural language ontology) and Rules (elements of guidance that govern actions). However, SBVR does not standardize any particular language for expressing vocabularies and rules. Instead, SBVR uses ...

ROBUSTNESS OF THE TRIPLE IMPLICATION INFERENCE METHOD BASED ON THE WEIGHTED LOGIC METRIC

This paper focuses on the robustness problem of full implication triple implication inference method for fuzzy reasoning. First of all, based on strong regular implication, the weighted logic metric for measuring distance between two fuzzy sets is proposed. Besides, under this metric, some robustness results of the triple implication method are obtained, which demonstrates that the triple impli...

SBVR based Business Contract and Business Rule IDE

We propose an IDE – Integrated Development Environment to model SBVR (Semantic of Business Vocabulary and Business Rule) compliant business rules [2] extracted from business contract of services and store them in an ontological structure of rules, facts and terms as defined in the SBVR metamodel. Business rules are based on principles of deontic logic for treating expressions in the form of nor...
